The app Vindskyddskartan (Shelter Map)
Do you want to enjoy the Swedish nature and perhaps spend the night in the wilderness? Or are you just looking for nice places to stop for a "fika"?
Either way, there are plenty of hiking shelters and rest cabins in Sweden, but finding them can be a challenge. With our mobile app you can head out into the wilderness and easily find a shelter near your location whenever you want to camp in the wild. The app works even when there is weak or no phone signal, so you don't need to have a reliable connection in order to view shelters and their locations (some features require a data connection, such as images and map layers).
The app also has functions for
- viewing fire risk information (current fire risk, fire ban status, fire risk forecast and risk overview map)
- edit and add shelters
- navigating to shelters
- measuring distance on the map
- multiple map layers (topographic, open streetmaps and satellite imagery)
The app is available on Google Play for Android and App Store for iPhone/iPad. After you launch the app for the first time, you are eligible for a free trial period. After the free trial, the app requires either a one-time purchase or a subscription, which can be purchased inside the app. Read more about the app on Google Play or Apple App Store.
